Joplin Disaster Relief Benefit Concert, June 1 at 7 p.m. at Brentwood Christian Church

UPDATE: We’re pleased to announce that the concert raised $6,249.36 that will go directly to Joplin relief efforts. Thanks to all of the musicians, vocalists, and people who attended that made this fantastic event possible!!

Almost everybody again!

We’re really excited to announce that several of the most dynamic performers in the Springfield-Joplin area are sharing the stage at Brentwood Christian Church on Wednesday, June 1 at 7 p.m. in order to lend their voice to the people of Joplin. Admission is free; donations for Joplin tornado relief will be collected. All proceeds will go directly to Joplin recovery efforts.

Musicians include:
 The New Creole Jazz Band
 Carol Reinert and Montage
 Derrick Jarvis, who recently performed as Amos in Springfield Little Theater’s production of Chicago
 Susan Gravatt
 Judy Luxton
 Carolyn Billingsley, 11-year-old singer and Joplin native with various Springfield theatre productions, including the lead in The Secret Garden
 Jim Hunter, noted sax player and band leader from Carthage-Joplin area
 Emily Bowen
 Harry Beckett
 With a special sneak preview performance of music from Springfield Little Theatre’s upcoming production of Children of Eden, featuring Liz Akers and Matt Dumke, as well as various songs from this season’s shows seen at the Landers and with Springfield Contemporary Theatre at the Vandivort Center

You won’t want to miss this fantastic evening of music as we come together to raise support for the people of Joplin!
